The University of Arizona Cancer Center (UACC), a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, is recruiting an Associate Director of Administration to guide the Center in meeting its ambitious goals for growth over the next decade. This individual will work closely with the Centerís Director and Cancer Center leadership to advance the mission of preventing and curing cancer. The Associate Director will have broad authority to oversee the administrative unit to ensure excellence and compliance in areas of clinical trials management, grant production, human resources, grants/contracts management, public relations/communications, philanthropy, and facility management.

The successful candidate should have significant administrative leadership experience. The applicant should have management experience in the areas of academic research administration and program development. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of an academic health-care environment including clinical trials, grant writing, and contract management are essential to success in this position. The selected candidate will exercise independent judgment and decision making, while possessing strong communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with a staff of over 300 part and full-time workers and Medical Center faculty.

The UACC is located in Tucson, Arizona, with a collaborating site in Phoenix, and has been a Comprehensive Cancer Center for more than 28 years. UACC boasts several freestanding research and clinical buildings, with four strong programs and eight designated shared resources. The UA promotes an ideal environment for collaborative cancer science with 180 research members.
