AACI Hill Day Set for May 5
AACI will hold its annual Capitol Hill Day in Washington D.C. on Wednesday, May 5. Partner organizations for the event include AACR, ASCO, and Friends of Cancer Research. The event provides AACI members the opportunity to meet with their Members of Congress to showcase their center’s work and to illustrate how the federal investment in research sustains progress in the fight against cancer. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) has benefited biomedical research efforts in the United States by infusing $10.4 billion into the NIH budget, but because this funding expires in 2011, advocacy efforts to maintain research funding will be particularly important in the coming year.
