The Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine and Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah in partnership with Korn Ferry, seek an exceptional medical oncology leader to serve as the Chief for the Oncology Division. This is a remarkable opportunity for a dynamic academic leader to further the growth and innovation of this vibrant program’s clinical, research, educational, and other programmatic missions.
The Oncology Chief will work closely with the DOIM Chair to promote a collaborative environment that enhances clinical growth and academic development as well as advancing research consistent with Department, and Institutional missions. Serving on key committees and councils, the Chief will have an important voice in shaping the clinical, educational, and executive future of the Huntsman Cancer Hospital and Huntsman Cancer Institute. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader who promotes institutional stewardship throughout the University of Utah Health and the University of Utah.
Competitive candidates will have a track record of accomplishment as an academic oncologist, as evidenced by practice and excellence in clinical oncology, original contributions to oncology research, national and international visibility, a history of extramural research funding, and progressive leadership and administrative experience.
The Oncology Division faculty and advanced practice clinicians cover the entire spectrum of medical oncology and are dedicated to high-quality, value-driven patient care, education, and innovation and discovery through basic, clinical, population, and health-services research. With over 30 faculty members, the Division is integrated in the Huntsman Cancer Institute, the University of Utah’s NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, serving the five-state Mountain West and beyond. The DOIM and Huntsman Cancer Institute are undergoing major expansions of their clinical operations in the Northern Utah area and are committed to growth in research of the Division of Oncology through recruitment of new clinical, translational, and laboratory-based faculty.
