The Division of Hematology, Oncology, and Palliative Care at the VCU School of Medicine is seeking a visionary and strategic leader to serve as Vice Chair for Clinical Research. This pivotal role provides an exceptional opportunity to shape clinical and translational research efforts, drive groundbreaking discoveries, and mentor the next generation of investigators within one of Virginia’s leading cancer research and treatment institutions.
As part of the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Division plays a central role in advancing cancer research and treatment. The Vice Chair will work closely with Massey leadership, the Clinical Trials Office, and institutional research leaders to optimize clinical trial operations, secure external funding, and foster multidisciplinary collaborations. This leader will be instrumental in aligning research strategies with Massey’s overarching mission while expanding the Division’s research footprint at the national and international levels.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide visionary leadership to enhance the Division’s clinical research portfolio.
· Oversee all aspects of clinical trials and ensure alignment with Massey’s strategic goals.
· Mentor faculty and junior investigators, fostering a culture of research excellence.
· Strengthen collaborations with national and international research organizations.
· Identify and secure funding opportunities to support high-impact research.
