NCI Announces Leadership Opportunity

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is seeking an innovative leader to serve as the director, Office of Cancer Centers (OCC). The OCC supports 72 NCI-Designated Cancer Centers nationwide that are located in 36 states and the District of Columbia funded by NCI that are actively engaged in transdisciplinary research to reduce cancer incidence, morbidity, and mortality.

NCI-Designated Cancer Centers are a major source of discovery of the nature of cancer and of the translation of these discoveries to develop more effective approaches to cancer prevention, diagnosis, and therapy. Most of the NCI-Designated Cancer Centers are affiliated with university medical centers, although several are freestanding institutions that engage only in cancer research.

For more information about the OCC director position, please review the job description. Applications should be submitted via the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Specialized Scientific Jobs (SSJ) website by August 19, 2024.
