Nominations are now being accepted for the 2023 AACI Cancer Health Equity Award. The award was created in 2021 to recognize an individual or group who demonstrates exceptional leadership in promoting health equity, mitigating cancer disparities, and advocating for diversity and inclusion at their cancer center. The nomination period will close on Wednesday, May 31.
Anyone at an AACI member cancer center is eligible to submit a nomination. The recipient of the AACI Cancer Health Equity Award is selected by a majority vote of the AACI Board of Directors. Nominees must show a strong commitment to health equity, diversity, and inclusion through cancer center programming and initiatives, outreach, education, or other activities. They must also demonstrate a measurable impact in their cancer center's catchment area.
The recipient of the AACI Cancer Health Equity Award will be selected by the AACI Board of Directors by a majority vote. The honoree will receive the award during the 2023 AACI/CCAF Annual Meeting in October. Previous Cancer Health Equity Award recipients are Electra D. Paskett, PhD, MSPH, and Robert A. Winn, MD.
