Patient advocate Loriana Hernández-Aldama will present the opening keynote on Monday, June 23, during the 17th Annual AACI Clinical Research Innovation (CRI) Meeting in Rosemont, IL. On Tuesday, June 24, Chad Fritsche, a certified health and wellness coach at Mayo Clinic’s Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center, will provide the second keynote address.

As a journalist and two-time cancer survivor, Hernández-Aldama uniquely leverages her storytelling ability to advocate authentically. Her captivating talks on transforming health care, health disparities, and patient centricity resonate with audiences, driving change and fostering collaboration with major health care companies.

Hernández-Aldama serves on the AACI Inclusive Excellence Steering Committee, and she recently authored an AACI Commentary on the urgent need for continued innovation in cancer research.

As the founder of ArmorUp for LIFE, a nonprofit helping underserved communities affected by cancer master survival, her work earned recognition in Cancer Health's Top 25 for making a difference in the quality of life for cancer patients. During the keynote, she will share her thoughts on improving the patient experience through the use of navigation and patient education.

Chad Fritsche is a facilitator, trainer, and coach specializing in improving communication to ultimately enhance the employee experience and, in health care, the patient experience.

Fritsche coaches clinicians and leaders at Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center and has worked with countless departments at Mayo Clinic, providing educational tools for any challenges that department might be facing. Topics around human-centered communication, sharing difficult news, empathic de-escalation, and creating a feedback culture are some of the many talks he leads.
