Inclusive Excellence

AACI Inclusive Excellence Initiative

AACI President Robert A. Winn, MD, is the director of VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Dr. Winn’s AACI Presidential Initiative aims to develop and promote inclusive excellence by examining methods through which AACI members can foster partnerships with like-minded organizations, government agencies, and other institutions – regionally, nationally, and globally.

The Inclusive Excellence Initiative focuses on collaborative efforts to create opportunities for research, training and education, and patient navigation. As part of the initiative, AACI is meeting with leadership from Historically Black Colleges and Universities and other Minority-Serving Institutions, establishing benchmarks for global oncology programs and partnerships, and advocating for patient navigation services.

The initiative also supports the continuation of AACI’s Leadership Diversity and Development Workshop and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Summit hosted by AACI in partnership with the American Cancer Society and the Cancer Center DEI Network.
