Register for Upcoming PCLI, CARDS Webinars

align-left AACI's Physician Clinical Leadership Initiative (PCLI) will host a webinar titled "From Outreach to Action: Embedding Community Perspectives in Cancer Research" at 3:00 pm eastern time on Thursday, March 20. The webinar will focus on the importance of integrating Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) aspects into research and how physician leaders can play a vital role in supporting their cancer centers’ COE efforts. Experts will share insights on the impact of COE integration, opportunities for physician involvement, and strategies to enhance institutional coordination. The session will also provide perspectives from the office of clinical research, patient advocacy, and physician leaders who work with their COE offices effectively. 

The webinar will be moderated by Nicole Simone, MD, Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Jefferson (SKCCC). Presenters are Amy E. Leader, DrPH, MPH, SKCCC; Jin Sun Bitar, MD, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center; and Silvia Byer, PhD, The University of Kansas Cancer Center PIVOT Program.

Members of AACI's Catchment Area Research Data Science (CARDS) listserv community will host "Statistical Approaches to Bridging Gaps in Catchment Area Data" at 2:00 pm eastern time on Tuesday, March 25. The webinar will focus on statistical approaches to estimating missing or unknown values in two important areas of catchment area research: clinical trials and rates of cancer incidence.

Moderated by Tesla DuBois, Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Jefferson, the webinar will also feature presenters Dinesh Pal Mudaranthakam, PhD, MBA, MS, The University of Kansas Cancer Center; and Jacob Oleson, PhD, MA, University of Iowa, Department of Biostatistics.
